About the service

Also known as speech-language therapy or speech pathology, is a specialized healthcare profession focused on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Speech therapists, known as speech-language pathologists (SLPs), work with individuals of all ages, who have difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency (stuttering), and swallowing.

Speech therapy is highly individualized and tailored to the unique needs and goals of each child. SLPs are able to work with children who have various diagnoses. Speech therapy can be conducted one-on-one or in group settings, depending on the circumstances. The ultimate goal of speech therapy is to help individuals communicate effectively and improve their overall quality of life.

All of our SLPs receive in-house training, participate in crisis management (QBS), HIPAA, and mandated reporting training. At Bloom and Grow Therapy Center, we believe that learning never stops. We create opportunities for our SLPs to receive continuous education during monthly meetings that deliver information which ensures our skills and techniques are up to date with the latest evidence based practices in the speech and language community.

Lastly, SLPs have a broad scope of practice- meaning there are a vast variety of areas in which they are able to provide treatment. Because there is such a high demand for Speech and Language services, we make every effort to deliver treatment to each child who walks through our doors. To optimize our treatment quality, each of our SLPs are encouraged to choose three specific areas within the scope of practice where they can specialize and excel. After your child’s initial evaluation is completed, an SLP who is specialized in your child’s area of need, will be assigned. Here at Bloom and Grow Therapy Center, we take pride in ensuring our SLPs have a manageable caseload, allowing them to dedicate the time and attention necessary to provide high-quality services your child truly deserves.
